A Better Continuum Means Better CareAs healthcare providers, our paramount goal is always the health of our patients. With our population ages increasing in the United States and around the world, that means developing an ever-expanding range of services and new ways to deliver them to meet needs not even envisioned just a few years ago.
Today, we're seeing more age-related diseases, including many forms of dementia. Increasing life expectancies have produced new needs and have made us change the way we think about senior care. The results? More partnerships with acute care hospitals, which increase the value of the continuum of care, especially benefitting patients, physicians and hospitals themselves.
Specialized Memory Care a Growing Part of the ContinuumAccording to the World Health Organization, someone is diagnosed with dementia, on average, every 3 seconds. That translates to 9.9 million new diagnoses per year, with the number projected to increase over the coming years.
