A Better Continuum Means Better Care

As healthcare providers, our paramount goal is always the health of our patients. With our population ages increasing in the United States and around the world, that means developing an ever-expanding range of services and new ways to deliver them to meet needs not even envisioned just a few years ago.

Today, we're seeing more age-related diseases, including many forms of dementia. Increasing life expectancies have produced new needs and have made us change the way we think about senior care. The results? More partnerships with acute care hospitals, which increase the value of the continuum of care, especially benefitting patients, physicians and hospitals themselves.

Specialized Memory Care a Growing Part of the Continuum

According to the World Health Organization, someone is diagnosed with dementia, on average, every 3 seconds. That translates to 9.9 million new diagnoses per year, with the number projected to increase over the coming years.

NHC donates $300K to Alzheimer's research

MURFREESBORO - National HealthCare Corporation was recently honored by the Alzheimer's Association for its efforts to raise support for the organization, according to a news release. "We are pleased to announce that NHC's national team raised $312,130.41 in 2015, which is a 46 percent increase over our fundraising efforts in 2014," said Melinda Vance, NHC's national team coordinator . . .

Villages of Jackson Creek Memory Care is pleased to announce their support of Alzheimer's treatment and prevention research. As a member of the University of Kansas' Community Partners Program, we are dedicated to making a difference in the Kansas City area. Our support will enable the acceleration of research efforts to treat and prevent Alzheimer's. The philanthropy of the Community Partners Program will directly benefit the community in which our employees, residents, and volunteers live and work. We are pleased to be a part of this Partnership and to work closely to advance care and understanding of Alzheimer's.

Villages of Jackson Creek Memory Care Receives Award

The Recreation Department of Villages of Jackson Creek Memory Care was recently recognized by NHC with the prestigious Department of the Year award. This was in recognition of the partners having positive working relationships with other departments, knowing and exemplifying NHC's 20 Better Way Promises, high scores on interviews from Administrator, families and others, 0 state survey deficiencies, and ensuring that the Quality of Life Program and Patient Center Care is in place for each resident.

We are very proud of this accomplishment and recognition.
